EU agrees Brexit extension to 31 January 2020

28th October 2019

So the saga of Brexit continues with another extension deadline!

Today, the EU has agreed an extension for the UK exit from the EU until 31 January 2020, according to a tweet from Donald Tusk, the European Council president.

The EU have said they would allow for a so-called “flextension” – meaning the UK could leave before the deadline if a deal was approved by the UK’s Parliament.

However, it appears that MPs in the UK may agree to proposals by Boris Johnson for an early general election on 12 December.
